Monday---Slow Start

The call came early, from Mr. Al T., "we are having trouble with the bus, we have to turn around and have it repaired." However, the youth of Trinity UMC of New Albany arrived just in time for dinner. After dinner the group toured the facilities and went on a prayer walk in the neighborhood. They saw the porches, the children and interacted with several residents. Then they went to the KUO house to settle in for the night.

Tuesday--Bobbie's Apartment

The group went to paint Bobbie's three bedroom apartment. They first washed walls and then painted all the rooms. A group was assigned to each room along with the hallways. By dinner time the apartment was painted. That evening floors were swept, scrubbed and looked like new.

Wednesday-Move that Bus

The group went back to Bobbie's apartment in the morning to straighten up and put on the finishing touches. Bobbie arrived on the church bus and the crowd, yelled, "move that bus". Bobbie was presented with the keys and was overtaken with emotion when she walked into her made over apartment.

After lunch the group went to our downtown location and sorted cans. In all about 5 tons of cans were sorted and boxed to be used by local pantries throughout the city.

That night youth helped at Vacation Bible School at Pine Valley, followed by a fun evening of bowling.

Thursday--Baskets, Kids, Cans, and Clothes

The team moved 1200 Easter Baskets, 5000 bags of Easter Grass and hundreds of Easter stuffed animals to Crossroads Church to be stored for a Easter Basket workshop.

After lunch the team provided an afternoon of activities with neighborhood children.

Then back to the cans.

After dinner the team went to another Neighborhood of Hope location and sorted clothing.

Wow!!! This team accomplished a great deal while they were here. Thank You!!

Friday--Homeward Bound

After a time of celebration the Mission Team from New Albany headed home.
